Ownership
What Responsible Rottweiler Ownership Really Means
Responsibility is less about rules and more about consistently meeting a dog's needs — every day, for years.

Responsible ownership is often described as a list of obligations. In practice it is a habit: noticing what your dog needs and making sure it gets it, even when that is inconvenient.
Meeting needs, not just requirements
Legal requirements such as microchipping set the minimum. Beyond that, a Rottweiler needs company, structure, exercise, mental work, good food, veterinary care and protection from heat and stress.
Responsibility to others
A large, strong dog affects the people around it. Good control in public, respect for people who are nervous of dogs, and cleaning up after your dog are part of the commitment.
Asking for help early
Responsible owners seek advice from a veterinarian or a qualified trainer as soon as something seems wrong, rather than waiting for a problem to grow.
