Our Values
Eight Principles That Guide How We Speak and Act
These principles shape the club's public communication and any activities it organizes. They are also a fair standard to hold us to — if you think we have fallen short of them, please tell us.
Responsibility
Responsible ownership requires preparation, consistency, suitable training, appropriate supervision, and a commitment to meeting a dog's needs throughout its life.
Animal Welfare
Every dog deserves humane treatment, a suitable environment, access to necessary veterinary care, appropriate nutrition, and attention to physical and emotional well-being.
Education
Reliable information helps owners understand breed characteristics, canine communication, training methods, and the importance of individualized care.
Respect
We encourage respectful conduct toward dogs, their owners, volunteers, professionals, neighbours, and members of the public.
Integrity
Organizational information should be accurate, clear, and updated when necessary. Public statements should not exaggerate activities, credentials, or achievements.
Inclusion
People who approach dogs respectfully and are interested in learning should be able to access educational information without unnecessary barriers.
Lifelong Commitment
Responsible ownership does not end when a dog is no longer young, active, or easy to manage. Its needs must be considered throughout every stage of life.
Community Cooperation
Constructive relationships help promote better understanding and responsible conduct. Any formal partnership will be documented and authorized before it is publicly announced.
